Kids Summer Holiday Events at Meadow Grange

No booking required. Just drop in!

At Meadow Grange we love encouraging young people to get involved in gardening and nature. With the summer holidays approaching fast, we are delighted to be offering some creative workshops for children. No booking required – just keep an eye on our social media pages for updates. Between 10am and 12pm every Friday in the Summer Holidays we have a different craft activity happening in the Garden Centre. Drop in and spend some time making a nature mobile, bird feeder, terrarium or painting plant pots. Aprons can be provided but please don’t wear your best clothes for any of our activities!

All activities are suitable for children 5+ - Adult supervision (and maybe a little participation) required!

If you don’t fancy getting messy, we are also running our Summer Trail which is open from 10am – 4:30pm every Friday for £1.50 per child. Trail sheets can be purchased from the Café, you and your children will need to work your way around the Garden Centre solving clues and puzzles. Once you have completed the trail, make your way back to the café to claim your prize. You will be pleased to know that the Café are offering 50% off all children’s meals* weekdays throughout the Summer Holidays too, perfect for filling hungry tummies after all that hard work!

Join us for our Plant Pot Painting Workshop, where creativity blooms! This family-friendly event invites people of all abilities to decorate plant pots in their own unique style—whether you love bold colours or whimsical designs, the choice is yours! Suitable for children 5+ - Adult supervision (and maybe a little participation) required.

No prior experience is necessary—just bring your creativity!

All materials will be provided, including pots, paints, brushes, and aprons. You’ll leave with a hand-painted pot ready to add a personal touch to your home or garden.

Enter a colourful world where you can create your own magical festival garden mobile using beads, shiny ribbons and strings. We will use as many recycled and natural products as possible!

You’ll love threading, decorating, and turning your ideas into something amazing. Each mobile is as unique as you are. Watch it dance in the breeze when you're finished!

(Activity should last around 10 - 15 minutes)

Making a pinecone bird feeder will expand your child’s horizons in many ways. Most importantly, it will bring them back outside again and again, looking for the sighting of a bird eating from their homemade feeder.

We will be using coconut oil and wild bird seed so prepare to get a little messy!
