Head Chef

We are seeking a talented and passionate Head Chef to lead our kitchen team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in food production and preparation, along with proven supervisory and team management skills. As the Head Chef, you will be responsible for overseeing all kitchen operations, ensuring the highest standards of food safety and quality, while maintaining a positive and collaborative work environment.

 

Duties

• Supervise and manage kitchen staff, providing guidance and support to ensure efficient workflow.
• Oversee food preparation and cooking processes, ensuring dishes are prepared to the highest standards.
• Develop menu items that reflect seasonal culinary trends while meeting customer preferences.
• Maintain strict adherence to food safety regulations and hygiene standards in all kitchen operations.
• Manage inventory, ordering supplies, and controlling food costs to maximise profitability.
• Train and mentor kitchen staff in culinary techniques, food safety practices, and customer service excellence.
• work closely with front-of-house staff to ensure seamless service delivery and customer satisfaction.
• Monitor kitchen performance and implement improvements as necessary to enhance efficiency.

Experience

• Extensive culinary experience in a professional kitchen environment.
• Proven supervisory experience with the ability to lead and motivate a diverse team.
• Strong knowledge of food production techniques, cooking methods, and presentation styles.
• Good knowledge and understanding of food safety regulations and best practices in hospitality.
• Excellent leadership skills with the ability to inspire creativity and passion within the team.
• Previous experience in menu planning, cost control, and inventory management is advantageous.

There will be a two-part interview process with a formal interview, followed by a trial shift in our kitchen for candidates making it through to the second phase of the recruitment process.

Retail Assistant

Job description:

 

An opportunity for someone who is passionate about delivering high levels of customer service within our retail shop. Meadow Grange Nursery is currently going through an exciting time of expansion, and we are looking for a talented individual to join our dedicated team of staff.

 

Role: To work within the retail area with day-to-day tasks. A typical day will include, serving customers on the tills, creating displays, putting out stock, helping customers with goods to their cars. Answering horticulture related questions. This is a manual role and does involve some heavy lifting.

Person spec:

· Horticulture background in retail or similar

· Experience in a retail

· Hard working person who can multitask

· An individual who can manage lifting and carrying.

· Great customer service.

· Work unsupervised and as part of a team.

· Great Communication skills

· Good understanding of Health and safety

· Clean driving licence with the ability to drive vans. (not essential)

· Can do attitude.
